Role: PhD Student,
My research utilizes a larval zebrafish model to study the neural circuitry that dictates an innate motor bias that follows that loss of light. This behavior is dictated by an early developmental visual critical period that regulates a functional asymmetry between hemispheres in a subset of thalamic neurons. My work is focused on characterizing these neurons to better understand how disruption to early life experience impacts later life behavior.
