Role: MS Student,
We use zebrafish during neural development to define the functions of genes. My current research focuses on understanding the functions of genomic screen homeobox 1 (gsx1) through the exploitation of gsx1 mutants’ nervous system. I am examining gsx1 mutants’ visual abilities, and changes in neuronal identity based on specific proteins expressed in neurons localized in the sensory processing system.
