Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time" -Ruth Bader Ginsburg
My research focuses on microbial ecology, soil carbon storage, and plant-microbe interactions in agricultural and natural ecosystems. Specifically I focus on these dynamics as they relate to restoration of damaged Appalachian lands and the preservation of the rare undisturbed old growth forests of the U.S. In Spring 2024, I will co-teach the Microbial Symbioses course with Dr. Ember Morrissey where we will focus on all types of microbial partnerships, from plants to animals.
