Role: PhD Student,
Sara's current research focuses on investigating how dry-stacked, composted, and liquid cow manure affects soil nutrients and the soil microbiome. She works in collaboration with the Rowen Lab on the Evansdale campus to develop farm and greenhouse experiments to answer these questions and more pertaining to insect pests and disease. These results will be used to inform organic farmers of best practices, with consideration to economic costs and returns. This work forms the basis of Sara's dissertation, in which she will further explore factors that affect our beloved soil microbiome.
