Role: PhD Student,
I study predictive motor signaling circuitry in fruit flies. This principle, present across the animal kingdom, allows an organism to sensitize their sensory system according to its own movements, allowing for differentiation of incoming stimuli. Using a combination of immunocytochemistry, behavioral assays, and functional imaging I am able to study a group of neurons known to be involved in predictive motor signaling in order to gain a mechanistic understanding of the circuit.
