Dr. Navaratnam's goal in teaching is to train students in the scientific process and to facilitate scientific thinking. Within these courses, students will experience scientific research and are encouraged to actively engage in the subject matter through critical thinking exercises and problem solving skills. As a teacher of core requirement classes, he attempts to maintain high-quality classes that produce students who are prepared to succeed in upper-level courses and post-college careers.

He has developed a new Cell and Molecular Biology course (BIOL 215) designed for pharmacy students.
