Research Interests
I study the effects of drought stress on a model organism in plant molecular biology and a biofuel feedstock species, Populus trichocarpa. Specifically, I look at how root system traits influence drought tolerance. My work will contribute to a greater understanding of how these trees tolerate environmental stresses and could be used to develop lines with increased drought tolerance, improving productivity in the field.
