Giving Back to the Department of Biology

Give Online

Every gift to the WVU Department of Biology is important. By building a strong network of alumni, friends and parents who are annual contributors, the Department is able to provide scholarships, services, programs and enhanced facilities for our students. Collectively, hundreds of individual gifts allow the WVU Department of Biology to carry on the tradition of excellence at West Virginia University.

What Are Our Priorities?

Many academically gifted and talented undergraduate students participate in ongoing research with a member of the Biology faculty. An endowed Undergraduate Research Scholarship fund would be used to help support these outstanding students. Each scholarship award would assist the recipient in addressing the financial costs of their education.

Along with its natural habitat and picturesque setting, the core arboretum would flourish and bloom with a dedicated facility. The Core Arboretum Facility fund would allow for the construction of a small purpose facility where outreach, teaching, and many more activities could take place.

Graduate education and research are essential missions of the Biology department. With an endowed Graduate Fellowship, the department would have the ability to recruit and retain outstanding students now and for years to come.

Maximizing Your Gift

You or your spouse may work for a company that matches employees’ gifts to higher education. These programs are a great way to multiply your support by doubling, or in some cases tripling, employees’ gifts. Please contact your employer for details.
